Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral has an exciting opportunity for a vibrant, experienced Paediatrician to join our team for a one year fixed term to help cover sabbatical leave!

We are looking for an energetic Paediatrician to complement the current skillset of our team of consultants.

As a Paediatrician in Palmerston North, you will share a 1:8 acute roster covering the broad gamut of acute paediatrics with a 14-bed level 2A neonatal unit taking babies 28 weeks gestation (1000g) and over. The service is supported by dedicated Paediatric RMOs on site at all times. You will enjoy a range of outpatient clinics in the hospital and the community.  We are expanding innovative models of care in partnership with nursing and general practice.

We enjoy excellent liaison with tertiary colleagues from Starship and Wellington, who all visit on a regular basis.  We are proud of our reputation as a centre for trainees in Paediatrics, General Practice and Emergency Medicine.

What can we offer you?
• A diverse, dynamic and collegial team environment
• Ongoing training and development opportunities
• Six weeks annual leave per annum
• 10 paid days per annum available for continued medical education including a generous allowance towards costs of course and travel
• Generous relocation packages for national and international candidates

Our region also offers excellent schools and a local university. Better yet, you can get anywhere within Palmerston North in 15 minutes or less, contributing to that easy work life balance you’re looking for.
